Tim, I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. WD-40 is fish oil. For anything outdoors or that changes temperature, it's the worst thing you can use. Quickly turns into a sticky varnish.

There's usually enough unfaded bits of the color gels left in the speedo to be moved over the holes, but the binder idea is clever.

I found one way to stop the squeaky- Lucas oil additive. I slop a little in there, and run a drill in the proper direction to get all the grease all thru the insides. Seems to work wonders.
